Untitled

Your words flipped the switch on my life

It has been transformed from vibrant, hopeful and full of promise

To stagnant, plodding and mechanical

I can no longer visualize a future state

There is only now

The immediacy of coping with the crushing day to day

Accepting that my usefulness has passed

All that is left is to exist

Numb and alone

Until that too is over
